Have you registered with "The Chest" yet?

Free NW Procurement portal

The Chest is the North West 's Local Authority Procurement Portal (www.thechest.nwce.gov.uk). All Merseyside Local Authorities, with the exception of Wirral at present, will be using the chest by the end of 2009.

The aim of the Chest is to bring together buyers and suppliers making it easier for businesses to find out about new sources of potential revenue and to grow and develop to the benefit of the local economy.

This service is completely free. It is easy to use and once you have selected the goods and services you are interested in you will receive automatic Email alerts and will be able to express an interest and complete tender forms on line.

All potential suppliers to Local Authorities should register on The Chest even if you are not yet ready to tender. When registering you will be asked about your organisation and you can specify that your organisation is a Social Enterprise, Community Interest Company and/or VCO. This information will be visible to potential purchasers and will help Local Authorities in measuring their levels of spend with third sector organisations.

There is also a link to The Chest’s sister application, The Vault. The Vault gives a comprehensive register of contracts currently held by many of the 46 local authorities in the North West . This gives really useful market intelligence so that you can see what contracts already exist and when they are due to expire.

The Chest and Vault give valuable information on current opportunities and the potential market for your products/services.
