Throughout the work of the Confederation of Social Entrepreneurs we have considered developing a tender alert service; however we have reached the conclusion that this would not be an effective use of our resources, for the following reasons:

A key factor in being successful in public sector contracting is knowing your market well. The reality is that there is no one service that can provide tenders from all the possible sources, the key point is to be aware of who your potential customers are and how they publicise tender opportunities. The following table gives useful websites and Email alerts for different sources of contracts. Monitoring these on a regular basis provides a good overview of activity in the marketplace.
